Seitokai Yakuindomo – Episode 1 Impressions

Despite having a ton of anime series on the go I decided to start  a new one. I hadn’t heard of it before and it only aired between May and September last year so I must’ve missed it but the art style in Seitokai Yakuindomo immediately appealed to me. Its a slice of life comedy anime about a guy in high school. So far so normal. However, this school used to be an all girl school and this is the first year they let in males. Upon arriving at the school, our protaganist, Tsuda (who only chose the school as it was close to where he lives) meets the three other characters above and is enlisted in the student council to be the male representative. The characters all seem fairly entertaining so far:

First up we have the president, dark haired Shino. She says lots of vulgar things, as shown the last screenshot below. She mentions periods/tampons/vaginas/porn etc, all in episode 1. She also rules the school with an iron fist but is liked all the students. Second, we have Suzu, who is there to make jokes about her height and how she is like a small child. Third we have the adorable Aria, who reminds me of my Touka Kureha figure.

So the scene is all set. Expect some crude/vulgar jokes (so far the show has mentioned vaginas, masturbation, tampons, porn, lesbians, harems, perverts, PMT, all the first episode but always as a throwaway gag) and much playing on the fact that he is a guy in an all-girls school and the way they all tease him about it.  The only thing I don’t like so far is the occasional chibi-fication. Three more screengrabs after the jump…
